Our Story
Every good story has a few twists. This one just happened to lead us here.
If you'd asked us ten years ago, or even six months ago, where we'd be today, we'd have confidently given you four completely different answers.
One of us was chasing vintage and fashion. One had a passion for collecting records, finding new favorite bands, and making seasonal playlists. One had a gift for turning ordinary spaces into places people wanted to linger. And one spent years building a career while quietly saving for a dream she couldn't quite put a name to yet.
Looking back, I guess we've always collected ambitious ideas.
Different ideas, sure. But somehow, we kept carrying around different pieces of the same puzzle. Every few months we'd end up having the same conversation.
"What if someday..."
We'd imagine this weird little place that refused to fit neatly into one category. Somewhere you could browse vintage finds and other oddities, flip through records, discover local artists, play old video games, catch live music, grab a cup of coffee, or just accidentally stay two hours longer than you planned.
Looking back, every version of the dream seemed to have one thing in common.
Coffee.
Not because coffee was ever the end goal, but because it's one of the few things that brings just about everyone to the same table. It gives us a reason to slow down, start a conversation, and stay a little longer.
Then life happened.
We moved away from each other. Traveled. Built separate careers. Started businesses. Started families.
The dream quietly found its place on the shelf.
Until Boldly Going found us.
An established coffee shop in our hometown, built by people who believed in creating community long before we arrived. Somehow, it already felt like home for the dreams we'd been carrying around for years. And suddenly, everything clicked. It felt less like a coincidence and more like we'd finally caught up to a story that had been unfolding all along.
So we came home.
Not to reinvent Boldly Going, but to build on what was already here. To keep serving coffee with a personality of its own, keep growing the community that made us fall in love with this place, and add a little more creativity, a little more color, and a little more of ourselves.
We want this to be the place where game night gets just competitive enough that someone demands a rematch. Where you come in for one cup of coffee and accidentally stay through lunch. Where the barista knows your order but asks how your dog is doing first. Where you discover your new favorite band before anyone else has heard of them. Where first dates become anniversaries. Where strangers slowly become regulars, and regulars slowly become friends.
Most of all, we hope this is the kind of place that reminds us how much we have in common.
A place where everyone belongs, especially those who've spent a little too much time wondering if they do.
Coffee is the invitation.
